Hello internet friend! I'm a writer. So, here is a smattering of writing-related events from my life:

• Partway through second grade, my teacher decided that I'd need to stop writing in all-caps, and I agreed to mix it up.

• In fourth grade, I got to skip computer class to "publish" a story I wrote about my cat.

• In tenth grade English I wrote a short story about a teacher, and a boy in my class told me the story had no point.

• In college, I expressed myself on AOL Instant Messenger via song lyrics that other people wrote. People like MF Doom and Damon Albarn.

• After college, I wrote personal statements on behalf of my friend who applied to law school and my friend who applied to med school. They both got in, and now they're rich and famous. But not famous. Or rich.

• Once, on a long car ride, my friend claimed that I could not possibly have memorized the entire When Harry Met Sally screenplay. I showed him!!!

• At the London pub where I worked for a year after college, I got to handwrite the dinner specials on the chalkboard, even though the other American girl had better handwriting than me.

• One time my verbally excellent toddler asked for a bedtime story. I told him I didn't have a story to tell. He said, "use your brain."

• I like to write things and then read them. I hope you, too, liked reading this thing I wrote.
